What King homeowners say after the crew leaves

Neighbors keep mentioning the same things: Jay comes out himself, the price is fair, and nobody invents extra repairs. Every review is copied word for word from Google.

Ronald FenderGoogle review, Sep 2025

My roof started leaking after a heavy rain, called BlueJay's and the owner Jay came out himself same day on a Friday. Had a technician come out on Monday and did the repair. Did a great job. Other companies was tell me 3 to 4 weeks to even come out and look at it. Definitely would use them again in the future.

Justin MGoogle review, Mar 2026

Jay is very prompt, courteous, and fair with his pricing. We had an issue that could have very well invited another company to propose a host of "necessary" repairs, but this was not our experience. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs roofing and gutter work done.

Mark EskridgeGoogle review, Aug 2025

These guys get the job done!! Honest and fair pricing... you won't be disappointed. Absolutely beautiful work!! Cleaned up after and it was like they were never even there. Great job A++

Mark AllenGoogle review, Apr 2025

Blue Jay's Roofing & Roof Repair just installed a new roof on our house April 2nd 2025. We did have an unexpected incident but Jay took care of everything. He also put a new roof on our well pumphouse at no extra charge. He also replaced a few rotten rafters at no extra charge. We would recommend and use them again in the future.

Jenn BrownGoogle review, Mar 2025

A few years ago, we had a roof leak. 2 other roofers said they did not see an issue. BlueJay's identified the problem & fixed the issue that day. Very happy with the service & responsiveness.

Cindy WilliamsGoogle review, Nov 2025

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for the excellent work you did on our roof. From start to finish, your professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to quality were clear. The crew worked efficiently, kept the site clean and completed the job on schedule, AND the finished roof looks fantastic. I would be glad to recommend your company to others looking for reliable roofing services.

Kayla KatenGoogle review, Aug 2025

Bluejay's Roofing hands down deserves 5 stars. They are very professional, diligent and thorough. The provide exceptional customer service, and are actually reasonably priced. They are very kind and very hardworking. I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone.

Marcus WiggingtonGoogle review, Nov 2025

BlueJay's Roofing and Roof Repair are great. They did a great job replacing my roof. Quick, efficient, courteous and explained every step of the way. The owner is very nice and down to earth. Thanks Jay!

Erin BolducGoogle review, Jan 2021

Called Jay mid-day with a roofing issue on a house we have listed. He even came out promptly considering the weather. Appreciate he is willing to look and give an estimate before any commitment. Replaced a section of shingles on our porch that had blown off. Excellent pricing and excellent service. I feel like professionalism is sort of dead in this present day, well not with Jay! Thanks!

Keri PavlovGoogle review, Nov 2025

I had a great experience with Jay the owner. He gave me a fair price and fixed my issues quickly. He was very respectful and dealt with my emergency with kindness and compassion.

Dano GarvinskyGoogle review, Nov 2025

We have used Jay on 4 roof projects thus far and there's a reason why we do. He performs, goes beyond most others and he backs up his workmanship and products.

Chela BaldwinGoogle review, Jul 2025

Jay is a great communicator. Very reasonable pricing and has hardworking teams that get the job done! Got my roof and gutters done and they turned out beautiful!

Meet the owners

A King roofing company built to treat people right

Jay Bell and Weslie White, owners of BlueJay's Roofing, in company shirts outside a finished roof in King, NC

BlueJay's Roofing is Jay Bell and Weslie White's company, started in 2012 as Bluejay's Unlimited. Jay had spent years at a larger roofing outfit and saw what was missing: someone who cared about a homeowner's house as much as they did. So he went out on his own and brought family in.

He still leads hands-on. Jay looks at the roof, explains what he sees in plain words, and works alongside the crew. That is why reviewers keep mentioning him by name: the owner came out the same day, the owner told us what we didn't need, the owner put a roof on the pumphouse while he was there. Over 14 years the company has grown across Tobaccoville, Winston-Salem and Greensboro the way a roof goes on: one layer at a time.

Our mission

A flawless experience for everyone we work with, from the first call to the final nail.

Our vision

A roofer homeowners trust for a lifetime, not just for one job. Roofing the way it should be.

What you get with us

Why homeowners call BlueJay's first

White farmhouse-style home with a new gray shingle roof and covered porch with wood posts

You get the owner's eyes on your roof, a written price before you commit, and a crew that cleans up like they were never there. None of that is a slogan. It is what our customers wrote about us, and what we put in writing for you.

  • A free inspection with a written report

We look at the whole roof and put what we find in writing. It costs you nothing.

  • The price before any commitment

You get the estimate first and decide in your own time. Erin Bolduc liked that Jay looked and quoted before asking for anything.

  • Leaks seen in days, not weeks

Ronald Fender had Jay on site the same Friday his roof leaked, when others were quoting three to four weeks just to look.

  • Only the repairs you actually need

Justin M expected a list of "necessary" extras. He got a fair price for the one problem he had.

  • A yard that looks untouched

Nails, scrap and old shingles leave with us. "It was like they were never even there," wrote Mark Eskridge.

  • Workmanship guaranteed

We stand behind every roof we put on, and the CertainTeed products we install carry their own manufacturer coverage.

How it works

Six steps from first call to final nail

Our process is simple: you call, we inspect for free, and you get a written report and price. You decide with no pressure. Then our crew does the work, cleans up, and walks the finished roof with you. You always know what happens next.

  1. Step 1

You call or send the form

We pick up from 5 AM to 11 PM, every day. Tell us what you're seeing: a stain, a drip, shingles in the yard.

  2. Step 2

    Free inspection

Jay or a lead climbs up, checks shingles, flashing, vents and decking, and notes anything wrong.

  3. Step 3

    Written report and estimate

You get what we found and what it costs to fix, in writing. Repair or replace, we tell you which and why.

  4. Step 4

    You decide, we schedule

Take your time. When you say yes, we book the crew and order CertainTeed materials for your roof.

  5. Step 5

    The work gets done

Tear-off, decking checked and replaced where it is rotten, new roof on. The crew cleans up every day.

  6. Step 6

    Final walkthrough

We walk the finished roof and the yard with you, and answer every question before we call it done.

Questions

Roofing questions we hear every week

Most people ask the same things before they call: what a roof costs, how fast we can come out, how insurance works, what the warranty covers, and shingle or metal. Here are straight answers. Anything else, just ask Jay.

How much does a roof replacement cost in King, NC?

It depends on the size and pitch of your roof, how many layers come off, the decking underneath and whether you choose shingle or metal. We give you a free inspection and a written estimate before any commitment, so you see the real number for your house, not a ballpark. Reviewers often mention fair, honest pricing with nothing padded on.

How fast can you look at a leak?

Call as soon as you see it. We pick up from 5 AM to 11 PM, every day. One customer in King had Jay on site the same day his roof started leaking after a heavy rain, with the repair done that Monday, when other companies were quoting three to four weeks just to come look.

Do you work with homeowners insurance claims?

Storm damage is often covered, so call your insurer first and then call us. Our free inspection comes with a written report of what we find on your roof, which gives you something concrete to show your adjuster. We will tell you plainly whether the damage looks like a repair or a full replacement.

What warranty comes with a new roof?

Our workmanship is guaranteed, and CertainTeed shingles carry their own manufacturer warranty on top of that. The terms depend on the product line you pick, so Jay walks you through exactly what your roof is covered for, and for how long, before you sign anything. One customer of four projects put it simply: he backs up his workmanship and products.

Shingle or metal: which roof is right for my home?

Most homes around King and Winston-Salem suit architectural shingles: good value, many colors, and they shrug off Piedmont summer storms. Metal costs more up front but lasts longer and is a strong pick for barns, outbuildings and low-maintenance homes. We install both, and we will show you finished jobs of each before you decide.

Can I pay for my roof over time?

Yes, payment plans are available. Ask about financing when we bring your estimate and we will go through the options with you, so a roof that needs doing this season does not have to wait for next year. There is no pressure either way: the inspection and the estimate are free whether you go ahead or not.
