Gutter Installation and Replacement in King, NC
Gutters carry roof water away from your fascia, your foundation and the red clay around the house. We install and replace them, often as part of a roof job.
What gutters actually protect

A roof sheds a surprising amount of water in a hard summer storm, and all of it comes off the edges. Without gutters, or with gutters that sag, leak at the joints or pull away from the house, that water pours straight down onto the fascia boards, splashes against the siding and soaks the ground right next to the foundation.
Around King and the rest of the Triad, red clay makes this worse. Clay drains slowly, so water dumped at the foundation tends to stay there, which can mean damp crawl spaces, basement seepage and soil washing away from walkways and beds. Mature oaks and pines add their own trouble: leaves and needles pile up, gutters overflow and the boards behind them rot.
We install new gutters and replace old ones that have rusted, split or pulled loose. Because we are already working at the roof edge, a lot of our gutter work happens alongside a roof job. Jay looks at how water leaves your roof now and where it should go, and the free written estimate spells out the plan.
Why gutter work belongs with a roofer
Gutters and the roof edge work as one system. Treating them that way avoids problems later.
Planned around the roof above
A roofer sees how much water each slope sends to each corner, which helps put downspouts where they will do the most good.
Water sent away from the foundation
Downspouts are placed to carry water away from the house, which matters on clay soil that drains slowly.
Fascia checked while we are there
If the boards behind an old gutter have rotted, we point it out before the new gutter goes up, so it isn't fastened to soft wood.
One crew for roof and gutters
Pairing gutters with a roof project means one schedule, one cleanup and one person to call with questions.
Free written estimate
You see the scope and price in writing before you commit, with no pressure to decide on the spot.
Workmanship guaranteed
Our gutter installations are covered by the same workmanship guarantee as our roofing.
What gutter installation and replacement includes
The details depend on your house, but a gutter job with us covers these parts.
Taking down old gutters
Removing rusted, split or sagging gutters and downspouts and hauling the old material away.
Checking the roof edge and fascia
Looking at the fascia boards and the shingle edge for rot or water damage before anything new is attached, and telling you what we find.
Setting the right pitch
Hanging gutters with a slight fall toward the downspouts so water flows out instead of standing in the trough.
Downspout placement
Locating downspouts where they handle the most water and discharge it away from the foundation, walkways and doors.
Secure fastening
Attaching gutters firmly to the house so they stay put under the weight of water and wet leaves.
Coordinating with a roof job
When gutters go on with a new roof, we plan the roof edge and gutter together so water lands in the gutter, not behind it.
Cleanup
Picking up screws, scraps and old gutter sections before we leave.
From first look to the first good rain
A gutter job is usually simpler than a roof, but the steps still matter.
Step 1Reach out
Call (336) 971-3665 and tell us whether you need new gutters, replacements, or gutters as part of a roof project.
Step 2A walk around the house
Jay looks at the roofline, the existing gutters, the fascia and any spots where water is pooling or washing out the ground.
Step 3Written plan and estimate
You get a free written estimate showing where gutters and downspouts will go and what the job includes.
Step 4Scheduling
We set a date when the schedule and weather allow. If gutters are going up with a new roof, they are planned into that project.
Step 5Installation and cleanup
Old gutters come down, new ones go up with proper pitch and downspouts, and the crew clears the work area before leaving.
Step 6Walkthrough
We walk the house with you and show you where each downspout drains. After the first heavy rain, let us know how it handled.
Gutter questions homeowners ask
What affects the price of new gutters?
Mostly the length of the roofline, the number of corners and downspouts, the height of the house and whether old gutters have to come down first. Two-story homes and complicated rooflines take more time and material. Your written estimate lists it out.
Should I replace gutters when I get a new roof?
It often makes sense. The crew is already working at the roof edge, and you avoid setting up for a separate job later. If your gutters are in good shape, we will tell you that too. Here is what goes into a roof replacement.
My gutters overflow. Do I need new ones?
Not always. Overflow can come from clogs, a gutter that has lost its pitch, or too few downspouts for the roof above it. Jay will look for the cause before recommending replacement.
Can gutter runoff really hurt my foundation?
It can. Water dumped next to the house soaks into the soil there, and red clay holds that water instead of letting it drain quickly. Over time that can mean a damp crawl space or basement and soil washing away from the foundation. Downspouts that carry water away help.
Can a bad gutter look like a roof leak?
Yes. Water backing up out of a clogged or poorly pitched gutter can soak the fascia and roof edge, and from inside it may show up near an exterior wall. If you aren't sure which it is, we can check both and handle a roof repair if the roof turns out to be the problem.
How long does gutter installation take?
Many homes take a day or less, weather permitting, though larger or taller homes can take longer. When gutters are part of a roof replacement, they usually go up near the end of that project.
Can I pay for gutters over time?
Financing and payment plans are available. Ask about payment options with your estimate.
Do you put gutters on businesses?
We serve homes and businesses. Tell us about the building when you call and we will let you know how we can help.
Where we work
We put up gutters on homes and businesses from King to Winston-Salem and around the Triad, often during a roof project.
